2017 was a productive year for Campaign for Vermont. We had some big accomplishments and set the stage for great endeavors down the line. With your support, we can head into 2018 with the momentum necessary to accomplish even more.”

This year, Campaign for Vermont has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This day kicks off the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

So why support Campaign for Vermont (CFV)?

CFV is a staunchly bi-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting for economic security and prosperity for all Vermonters. We work for you, tackling tough topics such as ethics standards, school funding, sustainable spending, and government transparency.

Some of our recent accomplishments include:

  • Led the legislative initiative to enact Vermont’s first-ever ethics standards, setting a foundation upon which we can build a comprehensive system of accountability for our public officials. Read about the bill here.
  • Connected approximately 150 children and their families to the political process while raising awareness of Vermont’s public school choice system.
  • Researched and developed a proposal to reduce property taxes and make Vermont an education destination for international students. Each student we attract will bring approx. $39,000 in revenue to our education system, bring diversity to our schools, and allow for re-investment in the quality of education our students receive. Read about this innovative plan here.
  • Built a coalition to promote ethics laws for public officials. Partners included the ACLU of Vermont, the Ethan Allen Institute, League of Women Voters, Vermont Public Interest Research Group, and the Secretary of State’s office.
  • Successfully averted damaging changes to independent school oversight by working with the Vermont Independent Schools Association, lawmakers, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Conducted a 2017 legislative survey of priorities identified by our network.

Please support Campaign for Vermont and our Vision for Vermont with a financial contribution this coming #GivingTuesday. Your contribution will go directly toward funding continued advocacy for a more prosperous Vermont
