Response to Don Tinney (VT-NEA) Remarks
Vermont taxpayers hard hit by the recent property tax increases and in the line of fire for another increase this year may be alarmed to know Don Tinney, the President of the state teachers’ union, recently said “We’re not spending too much money on education. We’re having a difficult time funding it.”

Mill Moore
Now recently retired, Mill Moore was Executive Director of the Vermont Independent Schools Association for thirteen years. Prior to that, he had a 22-year career as a marketing research consultant. His marketing research clients included businesses in the banking, travel, resort, manufacturing, medical supplies and retail industries, and several non-profit organizations.
A Vermont native, Moore grew up in Arlington, Vermont, earned a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.A. in Communication from the University of Vermont. He served on active duty for three years in the U.S. Navy between college and graduate school.
Moore is a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for children in state custody and a volunteer ski instructor for the Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports program. He has been a Hartland resident since 1979.
