Montpelier, VT – Campaign for Vermont Prosperity and Vote for Vermont (VFV, LLC.) announce a partnership to bring in-depth policy content to Vermonters. “Our goal is to increase civic engagement in the policy issues of the day” said Benjamin Kinsley, Executive Director of Campaign for Vermont Prosperity (CFV) which is a non-partisan advocacy group that advocates for public policy changes that create prosperity for all Vermonters.

Vote for Vermont, a community affairs television program, is broadcast weekly by Orca Media and picked up by at least ten public access channels around the state.  The show is hosted by Pat McDonald. Guests are often elected officials or policy leaders that dive into current issues the state is dealing with. Vote for Vermont has been producing shows for about two years. Links to all shows are available on Vote802.com and on Vote for Vermont FB page. “The intent of the show has always been to bring Vermonters a thorough and unique insight into Vermont’s most pressing and challenging issues so they can be an informed voter and civic participant” said Pat McDonald.

The groups plan to start jointly producing the show starting in January. CFV plans to use its policy expertise and presence in the statehouse to keep policy discussions on the show up to speed. “I am really excited,” said McDonald, host of Vote for Vermont, “this is a great opportunity to expand our reach and encourage really great quality discussions.”

Additionally, they plan to expand the show to an hour long format from its current half hour time slot and organize panel discussions on current issues. Campaign for Vermont Prosperity will distribute the content produced by the partnership to its network of 20,000 people across the state and a website expansion of both CampaignForVermont.org and Vote802.com is planned to allow viewers easier access to the content and the ability to comment and share. “Our mission is to reconnect middle class Vermonters to their government,” said Kinsley, “this is one more way we can connect with Vermonters to get them engaged in the political process.”
