Friends, the election is over. Now what?
Vermonters have voted, we know who will be in Montpelier for the next two years. What happens next? Well, over the next couple months legislators will start preparing for the 2023 legislative session. This means they will start drafting bills, reviewing legislative procedure, and forming alliances. The work being done will shape the priorities and set the agenda for 2023 and beyond.
However, legislators don't have staff or resources to research complex policy issues, this is where organizations like Campaign for Vermont come into play. We offer policy research and recommendations and can work alongside legislators to get bills passed and fix broken or ineffective public policy.
What does CFV focus on?
♦ Vermont public policy that fosters prosperity for ALL Vermonters from every corner of the state and all walks of life.
♦ 21st Century economic policies that lead to the creation of family-sustaining jobs, with environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and a desirable quality of life.
♦ Political discourse that is data-driven and puts progress ahead of partisanship.
♦ Creating state and local governments that are transparent and accountable, fostering a political atmosphere (and an administrative and communications infrastructure) that promotes and encourages an engaged and active electorate.
How do we do this?
By reconnecting everyday Vermonters to their government to advocate for public policy solutions that work.
Help put us in the best possible position going into the legislative session to effectively advocate for these policy priorities. We don't do partisan politics, we look for solutions that work for ALL Vermonters. Giving Tuesday is two weeks from today, please consider supporting this important work.
Let's do this together.
I need to learn more.
